The Tree Progressive Rock Band From Bangladesh 

It was August 2011 when they first started coming together to start up this music project. After several jamming sessions together, it was very clear that this would never be just another music project, the chemistry between them was undeniable. Everyone in the room had the same kind of thoughts, energy, and positive vibe; like cogs in a well-oiled machine. They decided whatever was happening was too good to end as a project, and decided to take it much, much further. That is where the journey began.

The tree initially grew its roots through Zahed, following a long break from the music scene since his time with the well acclaimed band Hemorrhage. Looking to get back in the game he started looking for musicians to create a full fledged band. He recruited one of his own students, Nirjhar, a very talented young guitarist into the fold. Having filled both the spots for guitarists, the band lacked a drummer, a bassist, and a frontman. It was only a matter of time when another very talented musician previously from the band Whiplash, by the name of Shafayat joined the project. It was the unfortunate and sad circumstances of one of our close friend and brother, Shareque, leaving for his masters in Australia that Zahed and Tanvir met. Having talked about the project, they decided to meet and jam to a few songs at Zahed’s music school. With only the bassist left, Fayid was called upon to fill the spot, having known the guys for a longtime since his time with Last Child. And with that, the tree was born.

In 2013, 3 members of the band left the country for their higher education (Tanvir, Rafa & Nirjhar). But the band decided to move on. Zahed asked his Student Muhit to join the band. Muhit – a very talented musician from the town joined the band as a guitar & keyboard player. And Rifat – a very experienced musician in his field joined the band as a bassist.The band then started to work on their own album. But after releasing 2 of their own singles Shafayat moved to USA for his higher study. After frequent lineup changes the band took it very seriously. Mushfique then joined the band as a drummer After that the band started jamming regularly and played some very good concerts. May 2014, Muhit left the band to serve his own band. April 2015 Mushfique left the band for his personal reasons. Then Abid Pasha joined the band as a drummer and Samit as a guitar & keyboard player. Since then, The Tree started playing all the live concerts that came their way, as well as doing radio and television shows to get their music out there.

Ei Shohor Theke
(January 16th, 2016)

The Tree managed to compile a considerable amount of their own music, releasing several tracks online. From that point on, they got to work on their dream, their debut album; Ei Shohor Theke. Every tune, melody, riff, solo and every word in Ei Shohor Theke is inspired by the hustle and bustle of our everyday life in the big city. The tree tells a story with every song, pouring in all their hopes, dreams, despair, anger, frustrations and happiness that they themselves have witnessed, seen, and felt. In a way, the lyric in EI Shohor Theke are snapshots into the lives of the members, providing almost an autobiographical feeing to the whole thing. These emotions and stories are bound to coincide with what hundreds, thousands, millions of people out there who feel the exact same way. The true stories are the essence of the album, Ei Shohor Theke. January 16th, 2016 is the day The Tree launched their debut album Ei Shohor Theke in Chittagong. The launch event was a massive success in Chittagong as fans showed up in throngs to show their support for the band. The Tree aims to bring over all the buzz and excitement all the way from Chittagong to Other cities like Dhaka, Comilla, Khulna, Sylhet very soon as they gear up to introduce Ei Shohor Theke to all the music lovers around the country. They are also committing to do regular concerts in cities outside of Chittagong to promote their music and distribute their album.
